Lorelei Salas is an accomplished labor and consumer law advocate with decades of experience in public service, who has been committed to fighting inequality throughout her career. Lorelei Salas was the Supervision Director at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau until February 2025. Before her tenure at the CFPB, she led the New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, the oldest consumer agency in the country, where she strengthened protections for immigrants, low-wage workers, and vulnerable communities. In 2010, Salas was nominated by President Obama to lead the Wage and Hour Division of the United States Department of Labor. Her career includes decades of public service dedicated to enforcing labor standards, combating financial exploitation, and expanding economic opportunity.  

As a trusted voice in consumer rights, labor justice, and equity in the marketplace, Salas provides timely insight into how shifting policies and economic pressures affect working families.
